One of these Pics is not like the other

Here's two pictures here and here. Both have young girls showing a lot of skin yet nothing remotely close to naughty parts. Though apparently the major news outlets think the first picture is going to cause outrage amongst overzealous parents everywhere and negatively impact the financial future of the retail cash cow represented by the second picture.

And yet, I'm still left wondering why the hell the news outlets even expect me to care at all. I mean, what's up? Nothing else going on today? Didn't the Taliban just try to kill the president of Afghanistan during a public event? I'm supposed to care about this faux Hannah Montana moral outrage BS?

Didn't these people see RoboCop?

Being a child of the 70s and 80s, if there is one thing that I learned, it's that your never, ever, give a loaded weapon to a computer!

First Day of School

Today was Arilyn's first day of nursery school. As expected we were quickly blown off when she learned there would be play-doh.

Just in from the Department of Duh

Study finds men like attractive women and aren't as picky as women are...

Actually, what dumbfounds me less than the results of this study is that someone actually got funding to do this study.

I imagine the follow up to this study will be a detailed analysis of the impact of beer goggles on the experiment that was conducted. Though it was done in Germany so maybe beer goggles were already in effect...who knows?

Great Moments in OMGWTF

Here's a bit of IM conversation today after the truck pulled up with the new addition.

(03:48:57 PM) mck: wow
(03:48:58 PM) mck: ok
(03:49:10 PM) mck: so big section of house just showed up
(03:49:15 PM) mck: except
(03:49:18 PM) mck: it's the wrong house
(03:49:21 PM) amentges: hahahahaha
(03:49:52 PM) amentges: do they have the dominos deal to where if its not exactly what you ordered you get it for free

Turned out all was well and it was the right house. What the builders did was assemble two modules together lengthwise to sit on the trailer for shipping, then side the modules that way, then cut the siding when they unload them on site. Because of the siding running all the way down the section it looks like one huge piece, when it's really two.

My parents opted to not tell my sister this as she wasn't here at the time and now she's spazzing out over it and thinks the whole house is fubar and will probably continue ranting to everyone she meets until one of my parents slips up and starts laughing.
